Competition FAQ

Q- How do I register for a UCA regional or state level competition?

A- There are a couple of different ways that you can register for a UCA competition.  You can register for any competition by calling or emailing your
UCA State Director.  And you can always call 1-888-CHEERUCA and speak to a representative to register.

Q- How do I know what time my team will be performing at competition?

A- The week of the competition your team is attending, an order of competition will be uploaded to the UCA website.  The order of competition will have the time your team needs to arrive backstage, the time of their warm-up, and the time they will perform. Please know that due to additions and cancelations to the schedule all times are tentative and subject to change. UCA ALWAYS suggests checking the order of competition throughout the week to see if any changes have been made.

Q- When and how do I pay for competition?

A- Payment for competition is due at least 3 weeks prior to the event.  We STRONGLY recommend NOT bringing your payment to the actual competition site.  Please pay BEFORE your competition.  UCA welcomes school checks, money orders, cashiers checks, and credit card payments.  UCA will not accept personal checks.  If your check has not cleared by the Friday prior to the event, you will be required to make payment in order to compete. To pay with a credit card, please call 1-888-CHEERUCA.
**Please note that you will be charged for the number of participants that you register.  If the number of participants you will have at a competition changes, please call our office immediately to update your numbers so that you are only charged for the number of people you will be bringing.

Q- What divisions and categories are offered at your competitions?

A- Check individual event listing online to see if a competition offers school and youth rec or all star or both!  To determine which division you team is in, please view the School Divisions or All Star Divisions online.

Q- Do you offer a individual competition at your events?

A-
No, UCA does not have an individual division at any of its competitions.

Q- Do you offer a partner stunt competition at your events?

A- Some of our competitions do offer a partner stunt competition. Please contact your State Director for more information.

Q- How do I know what time I need to arrive to check-in my team?

A-  Each competition has a "Here's The Scoop" letter. After picking a Competition in the Competition Search and clicking “Click here for more information and to register,” that page will have a “Here’s The Scoop” link, click on that and there will be detailed information regarding what time you should arrive to check-in your team, an address of the event location, prices for spectators, and any additional information that may be relevant to the event you are attending. After you register for the competition, you will also receive a "Here's The Scoop"letter in the mail along with an invoice.

Q- Who needs to fill out medical release forms and who does not?

A- As of the 2008 competition season, All-Star teams do not need to fill out Medical Release forms.  Participants on school and youth/rec teams ARE REQUIRED to fill out medical release forms for each event.  The coach, advisor, or team representative must bring all of the medical release forms with them to check-in.  If a participant does not completely fill out a medical release form with all of the appropriate signatures, they will not be allowed to perform.

Q- Does my squad have to qualify for the National High School Cheerleading Championship?

A- Yes, At regional competitions, teams may qualify for the NHSCC by winning their division or by receiving an At-Large Bid based on performance.
