September
Universal Cheerleaders Association would like to recognize cheer coach Ashley Fisher Butler from Pickens High School as September’s Coach of the Month.
The cheer squad from Pickens High School appreciates that their coach is behind them no matter what and is never too busy or closed minded to any ideas the squad has. Thanks to this winning combo of traits, the squad has gotten the chance to do some pretty creative things over the years. One year the squad held a glow stick pep rally, which required extra money and dedication, but turned out to be one of their best pep rallies.
Coach Butler also creates special workouts for them to make sure they are in top physical condition. Instead of watching them on the sidelines, she is right there with them doing the workout.
The cheer team isn’t the only group rooting for Coach Butler—the whole school thinks very highly of her, too, and recently named her Teacher of the Year.
Amber Brown nominated Coach Butler for September’s Coach of the Month and says, “Coach Butler has been an inspiration to all of us. She never does anything 50 per cent. She does her very best and always pushes us to do our very best. She does a great job of not putting anyone above the rest and treats us like family.”
