Throughout the year, Norris keeps his squad involved in the community. He always stresses to his cheerleaders how important it is to help out the community. For their first community service project this year, his squad will be volunteering at the Pink Ribbon Run. Norris says, “My goal for EKU Cheerleading is for them to become more visible throughout the university and local community by being great cheerleaders on the sideline and becoming an integral part of EKU Athletics. From there, hopefully somewhere along the line, their dedication to being great game cheerleaders will lead to competitive success with a UCA Collegiate National Championship.” When Norris isn’t coaching at Eastern Kentucky University, he is helping out local high school teams with their tumbling skills and working as chorographer for V!ROC. Norris started his cheerleading career off as a UCA Instructor in the Midsouth. He was an instructor for 11 years, and has made an impact on thousands of cheerleaders.
August
The August coach of the month is Norris Domingue. Norris is the coach at Eastern Kentucky University and has been coaching there for four years. Jade Miles, a cheerleader on Norris squad said, “Our coach believes in us and always pushes us to be better. He reminds us that the difference between failure and success is doing something nearly right and doing it exactly right.”
The Eastern Kentucky University cheer squad also does a lot of squad bonding activities. They do different activities such as having cookouts and playing games like “How well do you know your teammates?”
